What will my first session look like?

 

If this is your first treatment we will begin with a short consultation to discuss your health and wellness goals and review your skin condition and any relevant medical history.  You will then lie down on your back on a massage table and will be offered a blanket and an option for the bed to be heated. The lights will be dimmed and I will play some relaxing music.  I cleanse your face using an organic cleanser and a hot towel and apply a facial elixir before your treatment begins.

What is the difference between Zone Face Lift and Facial Reflexology?

 

Reflexology is holistic therapy based on the principle that there are pressure points or ‘reflex points’ on the feet, hands, ears and face that relate to all the different parts of the body.  Almost every major organ, gland and body part has its own reflex point, and we believe that stimulating those points can help remove stress and tension, boost circulation of blood and energy, and help support your body’s natural healing system.

 

I practice the Bergman Method of Facial Reflexology, which uses a combination of traditional reflexology, Native American techniques, and Asian body maps.  Facial Reflexology is a relaxing non-invasive treatment that helps your body to rebalance and heal.  But it can also help with underlying conditions of the face and head, such as headaches, migraines, teeth grinding and jaw clenching, sinus issues, and Bell’s Palsy (weakness in the facial muscles).

 

Although it is not classed as a beauty treatment, Facial Reflexology can help remove stress and emotion from the face and help you achieve a youthful radiant glow and healthier looking skin.

 

The Zone Face Lift uses Facial Reflexology and acupressure techniques rebalance and heal, but also combines advanced natural face lift massage, traditional Chinese facial Gua Sha, crystal quartz mushrooms and facial rollers to sculpt and smooth the skin and to stimulate production of collagen and elastin.  This treatment also includes lymphatic drainage to help improve circulation and to remove toxins to promote brighter, smoother skin and a more even complexion.  Regular sessions can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, smooth frown lines, and combat puffiness while tightening the skin of the face and neck.

How many treatments do I need to see results?

 

You can expect to see some immediate difference in the brightness and smoothness of your complexion, but for more noticeable and longer lasting results I recommend committing to a regular treatment plan.  

 

Each Zone Face Lift treatment plan is tailored based on your individual goals and your skin condition, but generally I recommend a course of 12 x weekly sessions.

Are there any reasons why I can’t have Zone Face Lift treatment?

 

If you’ve had facial treatments such as botox or facial fillers, recent laser-surgery or any other non-surgical facial procedures then you must allow at least 3 weeks to pass before booking a session with me.  

 

For face lift surgery or any other cosmetic surgery you must wait at least 3 months after the procedure (or 6 months if there was any complication or post-surgery infection).

 

Avoid booking a session right after facial waxing or electrolysis, following recent facial or dental surgery, or if you have a recent injury to the head or neck. We will also need to discuss and make adjustments if you suffer from osteoporosis or arthritis as the treatments can involve movement of the neck. 

 

I will also be unable to treat you if you currently have any eye irritations or infections, cold sores, cracked or bleeding lips, or rashes, irritation, swelling and infections of the skin or scalp

Which tools and  products do you use?

 

The main product used in both Facial Reflexology and Zone Face Lift is the ZFL Facial Elixir.  This is an award-winning face oil containing 100% organic and natural ingredients that are suitable for almost all skin types.  It is vegan friendly and cruelty free.  It contains a blend of white poppy seed, rose and white sage among other therapeutic botanicals.  It smells divine and adds another level of nourishment to your skin.

Hot towels: throughout the session I use hot towels to open up the pores and stimulate blood and lymph circulation. It softens the skin and encourages the sebaceous glands to clear. Using hot towels also exfoliates the skin to expose  younger cells  and removes make-up, oils, and pollutants.

How should I prepare for my treatment?

 

Please come to your session wearing comfortable clothes that you can relax in that give me easy access to the face, neck and decollete. 

 

Ideally come without make-up, but if that’s not possible then I can easily remove it for you.

What should I do after my treatment?

 

Ideally do not reapply make-up for at least one hour to allow the skin time to breathe.  If you are going to be out in the sun remember to wear a good quality sunscreen.

 

Drink plenty of water and give yourself a little time and space to  be present with any released emotions that may arise from the session.
